For Concept Ideas
Were you driving in your car, speaking with a friend, or did you wake up in the middle of the night with a great idea for a best selling book? If that has happened, we would delighted to give your some initial feedbackˇXusually within a week.
For Your Information
- In your cover letter be creative in your approach, clever, catchy, but brief and to the point.
- We will notify you within 2-6 weeks by email if we would like to see the manuscript or not. Keep in mind we are a new, small publishing house and very busy getting out our first three titles.
- If we are interested in seeing your manuscript, all stories must be submitted by mail to the address we provide. We do not accept unsolicited manuscripts.
- Submissions accepted for possible publication must be provided on hard copy as well as on floppy disk or CD. At this time we only accept documents created in Microsoft Word. Manuscripts will not be returned unless a self addressed, stamped mailer is included with the submission and we are instructed to do so. If these are not included, the materials you send will be recycled.
- All manuscripts should be bound - any binding is acceptable. Type should be 10 or 12 pt in standard fonts. Nothing 'fancy' please. The manuscript's first page should include the author's name and contact information.
- If you are concerned as to our receipt of your manuscript, send along a self-addressed postcard with your submission. We will send the postcard back to you so you know exactly when we have received your work.
- If you are not requesting your materials be returned, be sure to include a self-addressed, stamped envelope so we can respond by letter regarding our acceptance or rejection.
- Publication is usually 6-18 months from the date of the signed contract.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I submit to other publishers?
Yes, you can submit to as many publishers as you wish. We do ask that you inform us of this in your cover letter and if another house is giving your book serious consideration, you inform us so we can keep our records current.
What about contracts?
If yourmanuscript is accepted, a standard publishing contact will be mailed to you, which we suggest you have examined by an attorney.
Do you offer advances?
Once we have a signed contract, an advance of $100-500 will be given to an author depending on title. An advance will be deducted from your sales revenue but is given 'in advance' to help you with promotional costs of your work, such as postage, mailing supplies, book tours, etc.
